The PhyUM Research Center had a prominent role within the UNED stand at the International Student and Educational Offer Exhibition (AULA). The active presence of the PhyUM Research Center at AULA underlines our continued commitment to academic excellence and contribution to informed decision-making by students, in addition to giving visibility to the research carried out at PhyUM by students in their TFG, TFM and Doctoral programs aimed to the development of intelligent systems for learning motor skills following the SMDD framework.

Artificial Intelligence in Basketball: UNED and L'Alqueria LAB Join Forces to Enhance Sports Performance

The PhyUM Research Center of UNED and the Valencia Basket 2000 Foundation, through L’Alqueria LAB, have signed a collaboration agreement in which they will apply Artificial Intelligence techniques to data collection for detecting and developing talent, improve sports performance, and support rehabilitation processes. The agreement arises from the growing presence of Artificial Intelligence in all areas of society, including sports.

PhyUM: from Research Line (2014) to Research Center (2023)

PhyUM Research Center kicked off with our first meeting to constitute the Board of Directors, as defined in the constitution that was approved at the last UNED’s Research and Doctoral Commission. PhyUM Research Center emerges after 9 years of PhyUM as Research Line and in response to the initiatives promoted by the UNED’s Research Results Transfer Office to promote outstanding research initiatives of UNED’s professors.
